A Florida futures firm that pays daily from day one, removed its daily loss limit entirely, and publishes its own pass rate. The drawdown switches type the moment you get funded, and that catches people out.

Pros

  • It publishes its own pass rate. The homepage states that between 1 January and 31 December 2025, 36.22% of Trading Tests were passed. Almost no prop firm publishes this number, and publishing a number that makes your product look hard is the opposite of marketing.
  • No daily loss limit at all. It was removed in January 2025. For futures traders that is the single most punitive rule in the category and Take Profit Trader simply does not have one.
  • Payouts are daily, starting on day one of the PRO account, with processing reported at around an hour. Most futures firms make you wait 20 to 60 days for a first withdrawal.
  • 4.4 out of 5 across roughly 9,250 Trustpilot reviews. That is one of the largest verified review bases of any firm on this site, which makes the rating far more meaningful than a 4.8 from 60 reviews.
  • No time limit on the Test. The 6% target has to be earned across a minimum of five trading days, but there is no clock forcing you to take bad trades.
  • It names itself properly. TakeProfitTrader LLC, 9100 Conroy Windermere Rd Suite 200, Windermere, Florida, trading since 2021. It also states outright that PRO accounts are simulated rather than implying otherwise.

Cons

  • The drawdown changes type at the worst possible moment. During the Test it is end-of-day trailing, which only moves once a day. On a funded PRO account it becomes intraday trailing, which follows your open profit tick by tick. Traders pass under one rule and then get liquidated under a different one. This is the most common complaint against the firm and it is a real design problem, not a misunderstanding.
  • The buffer. Before you can withdraw at the full split, your PRO balance has to reach the account size plus an amount equal to the maximum drawdown. Day one withdrawals are real, but the headline undersells how much profit has to sit in the account first.
  • It is a monthly subscription, not a one-time fee. $90 to $216 a month at the discounted rate, $150 to $360 at list. Fail slowly and the cost compounds in a way it does not at a firm charging once.
  • A separate $130 activation fee to move from Test to PRO, on top of the subscription, unless a promotion waives it.
  • Withdrawals under $250 carry a $50 fee. On a small withdrawal that is a 20% haircut.
  • Futures only, on CME, CBOT, NYMEX and COMEX. No forex, stocks, options, crypto or CFDs. Fine if futures is what you trade, useless otherwise.
  • PRO+ is the tier that fixes the two worst problems, giving you end-of-day drawdown, the 90% split and no buffer. It is invitation only, so you cannot simply buy your way to the better ruleset.

Discounted prices reflect the 40% off promotion running at time of review. Note the $50,000 account: it costs $12 a month more than the $25,000 but doubles the profit target while adding only $500 of drawdown room. The $25,000 account is the most forgiving ratio of target to drawdown in the range. Passing the Test triggers a separate one-time $130 activation fee to open the PRO account, which some promotions waive for the lifetime of the account.

Our Verdict

Take Profit Trader does the two things this industry is worst at. It pays quickly and it tells you the truth about how hard its product is. Payouts are daily from day one of the funded account and process in about an hour. And rather than hiding behind marketing, the homepage carries a line stating that 36.22% of Trading Tests were passed during 2025 and recommending the Test only to experienced traders. We have reviewed over 160 firms and can count on one hand the number that publish a pass rate at all.

The ruleset backs that up. There is no daily loss limit, which was removed in January 2025 and is the single most punishing rule in futures prop trading. There is no time limit. The 6% target across five minimum trading days is reasonable. The consistency rule applies only during the Test and disappears once funded, which is the right way round and the opposite of what several competitors do.

Then there is the thing we cannot score around. The drawdown changes type when you get funded. During the Test it is end-of-day trailing, so it moves once, after the close, and intraday noise cannot touch it. On a funded PRO account it becomes intraday trailing, following your unrealised profit tick by tick. A trader who spends weeks learning to work within an end-of-day rule is then handed an account governed by a materially harsher one. That is the dominant complaint against this firm and we think the complaint is fair. It is not a hidden term, but changing the fundamental risk rule at the exact point real money starts moving is a design choice that benefits the firm.

PRO+ fixes it, restoring end-of-day drawdown, lifting the split to 90% and removing the buffer. But PRO+ is invitation only. You cannot pay for the better ruleset, which means the version of this firm most traders actually experience is the harder one.

The cost model deserves a flag too. This is a monthly subscription, not a one-time challenge fee. At $90 to $216 a month discounted, a trader who takes four months to pass has spent more than they would at a firm charging once, plus $130 to activate. That is fine if you pass quickly and painful if you do not.

On balance this is a strong firm and one of the better options in futures. It scores 7.7, placing it above TopStep and Apex and below Tradeify and Lucid Trading. The 4.4 rating across roughly 9,250 Trustpilot reviews is one of the most substantial evidence bases on this site, and transparency scores 9.0, our highest mark in that dimension. If the intraday drawdown on PRO were end-of-day like the Test, this would be an 8.5 firm.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the catch with Take Profit Trader’s day one payouts?

The buffer. Payouts genuinely are available from day one of the PRO account and process in about an hour, but before you can withdraw at the full 80% split your balance has to reach the account size plus an amount equal to your maximum drawdown. On a $50,000 account with a $2,000 drawdown that means reaching $52,000 first. It is a real feature, just not as immediate as the headline suggests. PRO+ removes the buffer entirely.

Why do people fail Take Profit Trader after passing the Test?

Because the drawdown rule changes. The Test uses end-of-day trailing drawdown, which updates once a day after the close. A funded PRO account uses intraday trailing drawdown, which follows your open profit in real time. A position that would have been survivable during the Test can breach the limit on a funded account without the balance ever closing lower. This is the most common complaint about the firm and it is worth understanding before you buy.

Does Take Profit Trader have a daily loss limit?

No. It was removed in January 2025 and there is no daily loss limit on the Test or on funded accounts. Some third-party review sites still list one, which is out of date. This is one of the genuinely trader-friendly things about the firm.

How much does Take Profit Trader cost?

It is a monthly subscription rather than a one-time fee. List prices run $150 for the $25,000 account up to $360 for the $150,000, with a 40% discount frequently available bringing that to $90 and $216. Passing the Test then triggers a one-time $130 activation fee for the PRO account, which some promotions waive. There is no recurring fee once you are on PRO.

What is the Take Profit Trader pass rate?

36.22% of Trading Tests were passed between 1 January and 31 December 2025, according to a disclosure on the firm’s own homepage. A separate third-party review cites 16.86% for 2024. Both can be true, and the removal of the daily loss limit in January 2025 is a plausible reason the rate improved. Either way, publishing the figure at all puts this firm ahead of nearly every competitor.

What is PRO+ and how do you get it?

PRO+ is the upgraded funded tier. It gives you a 90/10 profit split instead of 80/20, end-of-day trailing drawdown instead of intraday, and no buffer requirement before withdrawals. It fixes the two biggest weaknesses of a standard PRO account. It is invitation only and cannot be purchased directly, so most traders will be on standard PRO.

Is Take Profit Trader legit?

The evidence is good. It operates as TakeProfitTrader LLC from a named Florida address, has traded since 2021, holds 4.4 out of 5 across roughly 9,250 Trustpilot reviews, pays daily with documented withdrawals, and publishes its own pass rate. It also states plainly that PRO accounts are simulated rather than implying live execution. Our reservations are about the intraday drawdown rule and the subscription cost model, not about whether the firm pays.
