◎ Best for
Active US equity day traders who already trade high volume, who want NASDAQ and NYSE level II data and live coaching included, and who value having the challenge fee returned once funded.
⚠ Avoid if
You trade selectively, because 80 round turn trades and 12 trading days a month force activity you may not want. Also look elsewhere if you want to verify a firm's record before paying, because Funder Trading has no Trustpilot profile.
Funder Trading is a US markets prop firm, and the only firm in our stocks ranking that runs a volume-based evaluation. Funder Trading tests you in NASDAQ and NYSE listed equities through a single programme called the TrueEdge Challenge, on its own TradeFundrr platform, then adds a stocks and options layout on TrueEdge Pro once you are funded. The split is 80 percent, the challenge fee comes back when you are funded, and the firm states it covers all losses on the live account.
One thing to get straight before the rules. The TrueEdge Challenge evaluation is traded in stocks: the challenge page states you will only be trading stocks listed on the NASDAQ and NYSE exchanges. Options come in on the funded side, where Funder Trading provides a TrueEdge Pro Stocks and Options platform layout and sells options account resets as a separate product. So Funder Trading appears in both our stocks and options rankings, and the distinction matters if options are the reason you are here.

How the TrueEdge Challenge Works
Funder Trading runs one evaluation, and it is scored on activity as much as on profit. To pass, a trader must clear every one of the following inside a calendar month of 22 trading days.
| Objective | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Profit target | More than $5,000 |
| Minimum trading days | 12 inside the calendar month |
| Minimum trades | 80 round turn trades |
| Position limit | No more than 1,000 shares per security |
| Daily maximum loss | $500, no more than 3 breaches per challenge |
| Consistency requirement | Biggest win must exceed biggest loss |
| Other | Hit stated key performance statistics |
| Markets | NASDAQ and NYSE listed stocks, in the evaluation |
The 80 round turn trade requirement is the part worth thinking hardest about. Most prop evaluations measure whether you can make money without breaking a risk rule. Funder Trading additionally requires you to trade a set number of times, which means a trader who would naturally take twelve good setups in a month has to find sixty-eight more. That rewards activity rather than edge, and it works against the risk discipline the rest of the rule set is trying to instil.
The 1,000 share cap per security and the $500 daily maximum loss both point the same way: this is a programme built around small, frequent equity trades. Read alongside the 12-day minimum, it describes an active day trader rather than a swing trader, and Funder Trading says as much in its own copy.
The rule we could not verify is the maximum drawdown. The challenge page states that the account balance must not exceed the max drawdown without publishing the figure, so ask before you enrol.
What Funder Trading Gets Right
Two terms here are genuinely better than the category norm, and they are worth stating plainly because the rule set above is demanding.
The challenge cost is reimbursed in full once you are funded. Most firms keep the fee, and among those that refund it, many pay it back only with a first withdrawal. Funder Trading returning it on funding removes the sunk cost that makes traders chase a failing account.
Funder Trading also states it covers 100 percent of losses on the live funded account, at every challenge level. That is the arrangement a trader should want and it is not universal, so it belongs in the comparison alongside the 80 round turn requirement rather than being lost behind it.
The platform side is solid too. TradeFundrr is the firm’s own software, which normally counts against a firm in our scoring, but it ships with real-time NASDAQ and NYSE level I and level II data. For equity day trading, depth of book is not a luxury, and firms that leave the trader to buy their own data feed are handing over a real monthly cost. Live coaching and online education are included rather than sold as an upsell.
What Cannot Be Checked
Funder Trading has no Trustpilot profile. There is no independent body of trader reports about payouts, support or rule enforcement, so every claim on this page that comes from the firm stays a claim.
That is why Payout Reliability sits at 5.5 despite terms that read well. The 80 percent split, the fee reimbursement and the loss coverage are all attractive, and none of them is corroborated by anyone other than Funder Trading. Our scoring caps payout and transparency marks where no independent record exists, for the same reason we do not reward a firm for having no complaints yet.
Pricing is the other gap. We could not find a published price for the TrueEdge Challenge anywhere on the site, which makes the reimbursement promise hard to value: a fee returned is worth knowing the size of. The site also carries a 2022 copyright notice, which may simply be unmaintained but does not suggest a page kept closely up to date.
On the other side of the ledger, Funder Trading publishes a street address in Chicago and a telephone number, which many firms in this category do not.
Active US equity day traders who already turn over high volume, who want NASDAQ and NYSE level II data and live coaching bundled in, and who value having the challenge fee returned in full once they are funded.
You trade selectively or hold positions for days, because 80 round turn trades and 12 trading days inside one month force activity you may not want. Also look elsewhere if you want to check a firm’s payout record before paying, because there is no independent record to check.
Our Verdict
Funder Trading scores 5.6, placing it in the lower half of our stocks ranking. The programme is coherent and aimed squarely at active US equity day traders, and two of its terms are better than most: the challenge fee comes back in full when you are funded, and the firm says it absorbs all losses on the live account.
The rule set is what holds the score down, specifically the requirement to place at least 80 round turn trades. An evaluation that measures activity alongside profit pushes a trader towards trades they would not otherwise take, which is at odds with the risk discipline the same page says the challenge exists to build. Combined with a 12-day minimum inside a single calendar month, a $500 daily loss ceiling and an unpublished maximum drawdown, passing depends as much on trading style as on being profitable.
The absence of any independent record is the other constraint. With no Trustpilot profile and no published pricing, a prospective trader is asked to accept the firm’s account of itself on the two questions that matter most: what it costs, and whether it pays. Neither is a finding against Funder Trading. Both are reasons the score cannot go higher until there is something to check.
If options are your reason for looking at Funder Trading, get the sequence in writing first. The evaluation is a stocks challenge, and the options layout and the options account resets sit on the funded side. That is not hidden, but it is spread across pages outside the main navigation rather than stated on the challenge page, so confirm what you will be permitted to trade and when before you enrol.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you trade options with Funder Trading?
Yes, but not in the evaluation. The TrueEdge Challenge page states you will only be trading stocks listed on the NASDAQ and NYSE exchanges, so the evaluation itself is a stocks challenge. Options appear on the funded side: Funder Trading publishes a setup guide for its TrueEdge Pro Stocks and Options platform layout, including options filters in the trading monitor, and it sells options account resets priced at $100 for one, $175 for two, $250 for three and $325 for five. Neither page is in the site navigation, so ask support to confirm the sequence and what you will be permitted to trade before you enrol.
What do you have to do to pass the TrueEdge Challenge?
Make more than $5,000 in profit, trade on at least 12 days inside a calendar month of 22 trading days, place at least 80 round turn trades, keep every position to 1,000 shares or fewer per security, finish with your biggest win larger than your biggest loss, breach the $500 daily maximum loss no more than three times, and hit the stated key performance statistics. All of those apply together.
Does Funder Trading refund the challenge fee?
Yes. Funder Trading states that the challenge cost is fully reimbursed once you are funded, and that the firm covers 100 percent of losses on the live funded account at all challenge levels. The profit split is 80 percent. We were unable to find a published price for the challenge on the site, so ask what the fee is before enrolling.
What platform does Funder Trading use?
TradeFundrr, the firm’s own platform, available in your dashboard immediately after registering. It includes real-time NASDAQ and NYSE level I and level II market data, low-latency execution, position management, customisable watchlists and price alerts. For equity day trading, having level II depth included matters, because some firms leave the trader to pay for their own data feed.
Is Funder Trading legitimate?
Funder Trading publishes a street address at 141 West Jackson Blvd, Suite 3315, Chicago, Illinois, and a telephone number, which many firms in this category do not. It has no Trustpilot profile, so there is no independent body of trader reports on payouts or support to weigh against the firm’s own statements. That absence is why our payout and transparency scores are capped rather than because of any finding against the firm.
Challenge objectives, platform, market data, profit split, fee reimbursement and loss coverage read from fundertrading.com and its TrueEdge Challenge page on 8 September 2026. The maximum drawdown figure and the challenge price are referenced on the site but not published, and are not stated here. Funder Trading has no Trustpilot profile. Prop firm terms change often, so confirm the rules and the fee in writing before you enrol.
⚠ Prop trading risk
Challenge fees are money at risk. Most participants never reach a payout, and funded accounts are usually simulated capital rather than live funds. Rules and pricing can change at any time, so confirm them on the firm’s own site before you pay. Nothing in this review is financial advice.
