◎ Best for
US equity day traders who want to trade without the Pattern Day Trader rule, who value a low benchmark target and no time limit, and who want the platform licence and market data bundled rather than billed separately.
⚠ Avoid if
You short heavily outside the Easy-To-Borrow list, because non-ETB names are buy-only, or you want a single profit target rather than six to eight benchmarks to clear.
PropShopTrader Stocks is the US equities side of PropShopTrader, sold as Stocks Gladiator accounts at $25,000 and $50,000. It is a genuinely different product from the firm’s futures plans, with its own targets, its own drawdown choice and its own platform arrangement, which is why it is reviewed separately from PropShopTrader Futures.
The headline feature for a small US equity trader is the absence of a Pattern Day Trader restriction. On a retail brokerage account under $25,000 the PDT rule limits you to three day trades in five business days. Here it does not apply, which is the main reason a trader would choose a funded equity account over their own.
Rating Breakdown
Weighted to 7.3 using our published weightings. Challenge Rules, Payout Reliability and Cost carry 20 percent each, Platform and Support 15 percent each, Transparency 10 percent.
The Stocks Gladiator Accounts
PropShopTrader sells the equity product in two sizes and two styles. Intraday accounts close every trade by 4:45 PM EST. Swing accounts hold overnight. Each is available with either an intraday trailing drawdown or an end-of-day trailing drawdown, so a trader picks the risk model rather than accepting one.
| Stocks Gladiator | 25K | 50K |
|---|---|---|
| Starting account size | $25,000 | $50,000 |
| One-time fee | $229, or $45.80 with the checkout coupon | $449, or $89.80 with the checkout coupon |
| Benchmark profit target | $325 | $625 |
| Daily target | $65 | $125 |
| Trailing drawdown | $1,250 | $2,500 |
| First benchmark threshold | $26,575 | $53,125 |
| MAE 50% | $625 | $1,250 |
| Profitable trading days | 5 | 5 |
| Signing bonus on transition | $3,000 | $6,000 |
| Minimum shares | 1 | 1 |
| Reset fee | $50 | $110 |
The targets are low in absolute terms. A $325 benchmark on a $25,000 account is 1.3 percent, against a $1,250 drawdown, and there is no time limit during the evaluation. That is a far gentler ratio than most equity or futures evaluations set, and combined with a one-share minimum it means a trader can build the record slowly rather than swinging for a target.
The catch is that clearing one benchmark is not the whole job. PropShopTrader states that six to eight benchmarks are required, so progression to Real Prop is a sequence rather than a single pass. Budget for the time that takes, and read the benchmark thresholds in the table above rather than only the headline target.
Short Selling and the ETB List
Short selling on PropShopTrader Stocks is limited to the Easy-To-Borrow list, which is the set of stocks currently available to short through the firm’s data and execution providers. ETB availability updates through the trading day.
Stocks outside that list are buy-only. Net short positions are not permitted on them, and a sell order may not exceed the share quantity you originally bought. If your strategy is short-biased, particularly in small caps and hard-to-borrow names, this is the constraint that decides whether the account works for you, and it deserves checking against your actual watchlist before you pay.
PropShopTrader publishes these rules on the product page rather than burying them in the terms, which is part of why this product scores 7.8 on Transparency.
What Is Included
Both account sizes include a Tickblaze licence, which the firm values at $198, and real-time market data, valued at $55. That is $253 of stated value bundled into a fee that starts at $45.80 with the checkout coupon.
For equity day trading that bundling matters more than it does in futures. Real-time data is not optional for this style of trading, and a firm that leaves you to buy your own feed is passing on a recurring cost that can exceed the evaluation fee within a couple of months.
The coupon itself is not named on the product page, only described as available at checkout, so the discounted figures above depend on finding it there.
US equity day traders who want to trade without the Pattern Day Trader rule, who value a low benchmark target with no time limit, who want to choose between an intraday and an end-of-day trailing drawdown, and who want the platform licence and market data bundled rather than billed separately.
You short heavily outside the Easy-To-Borrow list, because non-ETB names are buy-only with no net short positions permitted. Also look elsewhere if you want a single profit target rather than a sequence of six to eight benchmarks to clear.
Our Verdict
PropShopTrader Stocks scores 7.3, which places it second in our stocks ranking behind TradeThePool. US equity prop firms are a small field, and this is a well-constructed entry in it.
The combination that earns the score is a low benchmark target with no time limit, a choice between intraday and end-of-day trailing drawdown, no PDT restriction, a signing bonus on transition, and a fee that includes the platform licence and the data feed. For a trader who wants to day trade equities without $25,000 of their own capital tied up, that is a coherent package.
Two things temper it. The six to eight benchmark requirement makes progression a longer road than the headline $325 target suggests, and short selling is confined to the Easy-To-Borrow list, which will matter a great deal to some strategies and not at all to others. Neither is hidden; both are published on the product page.
One correction: we briefly removed this listing earlier today on the mistaken basis that PropShopTrader was a futures-only firm. The equities product is real and substantial, and the listing is restored with this review.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does PropShopTrader Stocks have a Pattern Day Trader restriction?
No. PropShopTrader Stocks states there are no Pattern Day Trader restrictions. On a retail brokerage account below $25,000 the PDT rule limits you to three day trades in five business days, and that limitation does not apply here. For many traders it is the main reason to use a funded equity account rather than their own.
How much does PropShopTrader Stocks cost?
The $25,000 Stocks Gladiator account is $229 as a one-time fee, falling to $45.80 with the coupon available at checkout. The $50,000 account is $449, or $89.80 with the coupon. Resets are $50 and $110. Both sizes include a Tickblaze licence the firm values at $198 and real-time market data valued at $55.
What do you have to do to pass the stocks evaluation?
On the $25,000 account you need a benchmark profit target of $325 with a $65 daily target, five profitable trading days, and you must stay inside a $1,250 trailing drawdown. There is no time limit during the evaluation and the minimum position is one share. PropShopTrader also states that six to eight benchmarks are required in total, so reaching Real Prop is a sequence of stages rather than one pass.
Can you short stocks with PropShopTrader?
Only stocks on the Easy-To-Borrow list, which reflects what is available to short through the firm’s data and execution providers and updates through the trading day. Stocks outside that list are buy-only: net short positions are not permitted and sell orders cannot exceed the quantity you originally bought.
Can you hold stock positions overnight?
Yes, on the swing variant. PropShopTrader Stocks sells intraday and swing accounts, and intraday accounts must close all trades by 4:45 PM EST. Each variant is offered with either an intraday trailing drawdown or an end-of-day trailing drawdown, so pick the combination that matches your holding period.

⚠ Prop trading risk
Challenge fees are money at risk. Most participants never reach a payout, and funded accounts are usually simulated capital rather than live funds. Rules and pricing can change at any time, so confirm them on the firm’s own site before you pay. Nothing in this review is financial advice.
