IP and automation rules. Ask your firm about VPS IP use, geographic location and EA restrictions before connecting.
Remote access security. Secure Windows and terminal logins, limit remote access and keep a recovery method outside the VPS.
Capacity and extras. Leave memory headroom for charts and EAs. Add broker data, platform licences and backup charges where applicable.
