Pros
  • Rulebook is unusually complete for the category, with separate challenge, funded account, reward, settlement and refund policies
  • Every objective is published before you buy, including consistency, exposure and per-pick risk caps
  • 80% split as standard, upgradeable to 100% with an add-on
  • No daily loss limit once funded
  • Entry from $49 for a $1,000 Standard account
  • Three routes, so you can skip evaluation entirely with Instant Funded
Cons
  • No payout record we can verify, and the site's own counter reads $0 paid to bettors
  • No ABN or ACN published, and we could not find StakeSteps Pty Ltd in the Australian Business Register
  • Around 3 Trustpilot reviews, so there is almost no independent feedback
  • Not regulated, and the simulated model places it outside gambling and financial oversight
  • Ownership is not named anywhere on the site
  • Pro route asks a 30% profit target, which is steep for sports betting

Routes and Pricing

StakeSteps sells three routes. Standard runs two evaluation phases, Pro runs one but asks a higher target, and Instant Funded starts funded with no evaluation. Standard and Pro prices are shown at checkout before payment. Instant Funded pricing is not.

Evaluation phasesStandard: 2, Pro: 1
Profit target per phaseStandard 20 percent, Pro 30 percent
Minimum settled picks per phaseStandard 25, Pro 30
Minimum active days per phase5 on both routes
Static maximum drawdown15 percent of starting balance
Daily loss limit10 percent of starting balance
Maximum risk per pick5 percent of starting balance
Maximum open exposure25 percent of starting balance
Consistency maximum35 percent of total profit
Phase expiry30 days per phase
Multi and parlay picksMax 6 legs, combined odds under 10.00, counted as one pick

Pro costs roughly 15% to 60% more than Standard for the same account size, in exchange for skipping a phase. Whether that is worth it depends on whether you would rather clear 20% twice or 30% once.

Evaluation Rules

These apply to Standard and Pro. Instant Funded has no evaluation phase and runs on the funded rules below.

Trailing maximum drawdown10 percent from a locked benchmark
Daily loss limitNone, applies during evaluation only
Maximum risk per pick5 percent of original starting balance
Maximum open exposure25 percent of original starting balance
Consistency maximum35 percent, carried over from evaluation
Reward split80/20 standard, 100/0 with the paid add-on
Minimum picks before first rewardNone, except Instant Funded which needs 25
Identity verificationRequired once, before the first reward request
Reward reviewManual, not automated

Funded Account Rules

10,000 accountStandard 140 USD, Pro 165 USD

50,000 accountStandard 500 USD, Pro 575 USD

The switch from a 15% static drawdown in evaluation to a 10% trailing drawdown once funded is the rule most likely to catch people out. The benchmark locks as your balance grows, so the room you have shrinks relative to your peak rather than your starting balance.

Rewards and Payouts

Funded accounts pay 80% of simulated profit to the bettor. A paid add-on takes that to 100% for the account it was bought for, and carries forward automatically if that account is restarted. Before a first reward you need identity verification, no open picks, no other reward request in progress, and for Instant Funded accounts at least 25 settled picks.

StakeSteps advertises a 24 hour reward guarantee, offering an extra $1,000 if an approved reward is not processed in time. Reward requests are reviewed manually rather than automatically. We have no way to confirm how either works in practice, which is covered below.

Our Verdict

StakeSteps has the most complete published rulebook of any sports prop firm we list. Terms run past 26,000 characters, and challenge rules, funded account rules, reward policy, settlement policy, refunds, complaints and responsible play each sit on their own page. Every number that can fail your account is stated before you pay: 15% static drawdown, 10% daily loss, 5% maximum risk per pick, 25% open exposure, 35% consistency. Compare that with most of this category, where drawdown rules are often unpublished or buried, and StakeSteps is doing something right.

The problem is that a rulebook is a promise, not a record. StakeSteps launched in 2025, carries around 3 Trustpilot reviews, and its own homepage counter reports $0 paid to bettors. The payout certificates on the site are self-issued graphics rather than third party evidence, and at least one appears twice with the same name, amount and date. None of that proves the firm will not pay. It means nobody can yet show that it has.

Company detail is the other gap. The footer names StakeSteps Pty Ltd, but no ABN or ACN appears anywhere on the site, and we could not find that company in the Australian Business Register. Being Australian does not make a prop firm regulated either. StakeSteps states plainly that it is not a bookmaker and places no real wagers, which is honest, and which also puts it outside gambling and financial oversight entirely.

At 6.5 StakeSteps sits mid table in sports prop. The rules and the pricing earn that. What it cannot earn yet is a payout score, and that single dimension is the whole distance between this and the firms above it. If verified payouts appear, this score moves quickly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is StakeSteps legit?

StakeSteps publishes a full rulebook covering challenge rules, funded account rules, reward, settlement and refund policy, which is more than most sports prop firms disclose. It names StakeSteps Pty Ltd as the operator and takes payment through Stripe. Two things are missing. It does not publish an ABN or ACN anywhere on the site, and we could not locate StakeSteps Pty Ltd in the Australian Business Register, so the operating entity cannot be verified. It also has no payout record we can check.

Is StakeSteps regulated?

No. StakeSteps states that it is not a casino, sportsbook or gambling operator, that it does not accept or place wagers, and that all activity happens in a simulated environment. That places it outside Australian gambling regulation, and because it is not a financial product it sits outside ASIC as well. Being based in Australia does not make it regulated.

How much does StakeSteps cost?

Standard runs $49 for a $1,000 account, $140 for $10,000, $300 for $25,000 and $500 for $50,000. Pro costs more for a single phase: $79, $165, $350 and $575 across the same sizes. Instant Funded pricing is not shown at checkout.

What is the StakeSteps profit split?

Funded accounts pay 80% to the bettor and 20% to StakeSteps as standard. A paid add-on raises this to 100% for the account it was bought for. The add-on carries forward automatically if you restart that account.

Does StakeSteps have a consistency rule?

Yes. A 35% consistency maximum applies on Standard and Pro during evaluation and continues once the account is funded. Maximum risk per pick is 5% of starting balance and maximum open exposure is 25%.

◎ Best for

Sports bettors who want every rule published up front and are comfortable being early on a firm with no payout history yet.

⚠ Avoid if

You want proof the firm pays. There is no verifiable payout record, only around 3 Trustpilot reviews, and the operating company cannot be confirmed in the Australian Business Register.

⚠ Prop trading risk

Challenge fees are money at risk. Most participants never reach a payout, and funded accounts are usually simulated capital rather than live funds. Rules and pricing can change at any time, so confirm them on the firm’s own site before you pay. Nothing in this review is financial advice.
