Day One Funded
Review 2026
5.7 out of 10
The short answer
Cheap static-drawdown challenges. New firm. No payout record yet.
Genesis 2 Step costs $25 for $5,000 with a 10% static drawdown and no time limit, and futures accounts allow news trading. Day One Funded has no public payout record, runs its accounts through Prop Account, LLC and does not publish the Express max loss, so start small and read the funded rules before you buy.
Our verdict
Day One Funded is a prop firm for FX, CFD and CME futures traders. It sells five accounts: three Genesis accounts for CFDs (2 Step, 1 Step and Instant) with a one-time fee, and two futures accounts, the monthly Express Account and the one-time Straight-to-Funded Account. Genesis 2 Step starts at $25 for $5,000, and futures start at $150 a month. [S1, S3]
Day One Funded LLC is a Maryland company with an office address in Rockville. It does not run the evaluations itself. Its terms say it is an affiliate of Prop Account, LLC, which provides the assessments and the funded accounts, receives every fee and signs the Trader Agreement with funded traders. Your card statement will show Prop Account, LLC. [S1, S10]
All accounts are simulated. The firm says funded accounts are backed by notional capital, and its risk disclosure says every funded account is a simulated account. [S1, S11] The firm does not say when it launched. Its terms were last updated on 30 July 2026 and its blog starts in September 2026, and we found no public payout record, so this review covers the published rules and prices, not a tested payout.

Rating breakdown
Overall score: 5.7/10, weighted with our methodology. Day One Funded scores well on cost and publishes most of its rules, but it shows no payouts anywhere yet. A firm with no payout evidence has its payout score capped at 3.5 and its overall score capped at 6.0. Transparency is capped at 5.0 because the Express Account max loss is not published. Checked November 7, 2026; next check December 7, 2026.
Account plans and pricing
Genesis 2 Step at $25 for $5,000 is the cheapest way in, which puts it among the cheapest prop firm challenges we track. Genesis fees are paid once and are the same on all four CFD platforms. The Express Account is a monthly subscription that keeps billing after you are funded, and cancelling it breaches the account. The Straight-to-Funded Account is a one-time fee. [S3, S2, S5]

List prices from the firm's plan data on November 7, 2026, before any code. Genesis Instant is expensive for its size, at 4% to 5% of the account. The $200,000 Genesis 1 Step at $959 costs little more than the $100,000 at $750, which is what the plan data shows; confirm it at checkout. There are no paid resets: a breached account has to be bought again, fees are not refundable, and there is no activation fee on a funded account. [S3, S9, S10]
Genesis (CFD) challenge rules
Genesis 1 Step and 2 Step use a static max drawdown set from the starting balance, so it does not trail as the account grows. See trailing versus static drawdown for why that matters. The daily loss limit resets at 5pm New York time against the higher of the previous day's balance or equity. Both need five trading days and have no time limit. [S3, S8]
| Rule | Genesis 2 Step | Genesis 1 Step | Genesis Instant |
| Profit target | 8%, then 5% | 10% | None |
| Daily loss | 5% | 3% | 5% |
| Max loss | 10% static | 6% static | 8% trailing on closed balance, locks at the starting balance |
| Minimum trading days | 5 | 5 | 5 before first payout |
| Time limit | None | None | Not applicable |
| Consistency (assessment) | None | None | Not applicable |
| Funded consistency | 45% | 45% | Not listed |
| Max risk per open position (funded) | 3% | 3% | Not listed |
| Weekend holding | Allowed | Allowed | Positions close Friday 3:45pm ET |
Three extra rules start once a Genesis 1 Step or 2 Step account is funded: no single day can be more than 45% of total gains, no open position can risk more than 3% of the account, and withdrawals are capped at 5% of the account per period. When you request a payout, the static drawdown locks at your starting balance. Breaking the daily loss, the max drawdown or the 30-day inactivity limit is a hard breach that closes the account. [S2, S8, S9]
Futures challenge rules
Both futures accounts trade front-month CME contracts with no daily loss limit and no news restriction. All positions are closed at 1555 CST each weekday, so there is no overnight or weekend holding. [S4, S9]
| Rule | Express Account | Straight-to-Funded Account |
| Assessment | One phase | None; four paid phases, then a live account |
| Profit target | 6% ($1,500 on $25K) | 9% per phase ($2,250 on $25K) |
| Daily loss | None | None |
| Max loss | Trailing from the intraday equity high; amount not published | 5% trailing on end-of-day balance ($1,250 on $25K) |
| Consistency | 33.33% in assessment and funded | 25% per phase |
| Time limit | 30 days | 60 days per phase |
| Minimum trading days | None | None stated |
| Inactivity | 30 days | 14 days in phases, 7 days on the live account |
| Contracts (standard / micro) | 1/15, 3/30, 6/60, 9/90, 12/120 by size | 1/15, 3/30, 6/60, 9/90 by size |
The Express plan grid says only that the max loss trails the intraday equity high. It gives no dollar or percent figure, and the firm's own blog says the figure is shown on the account page, which it is not. The FAQ uses a $3,000 loss on a $100,000 account as an example. Ask support for the exact number for your size before you subscribe. [S3, S5, S9, S13]
How the Straight-to-Funded Account works
Despite the name, you do not get a large funded account on day one. You trade four phases, each with a 9% target, and request a capped cash payout after each one. On a $25,000 account those payouts are capped at $500, $750, $750 and $1,500. After the fourth phase you move to a live account of $3,000 to $18,000 depending on the tier, with a max loss of 50% of that balance. [S3, S4, S6]
| Tier | Fee | Phase payout caps | Live account |
| $25,000 | $265 | $500 / $750 / $750 / $1,500 | $3,000 |
| $50,000 | $525 | $1,000 / $1,500 / $1,500 / $3,000 | $6,000 |
| $100,000 | $1,000 | $2,000 / $3,000 / $3,000 / $6,000 | $12,000 |
| $150,000 | $1,595 | $3,000 / $4,500 / $4,500 / $9,000 | $18,000 |
Product pages say the live account pays a 90% split, but section 6 of the Terms says the gains share is 80% on every account at every stage. Market data fees are included in phases 1 to 4, then deducted from the live account balance each month. Product pages list Rithmic for this account, while the FAQ says credentials are for DXFutures or Deepcharts only. [S6, S9, S10]
Day One Funded news trading rule
On Genesis accounts you cannot open a position within 3 minutes before or after a high-impact news event. It is a soft breach: the firm can close the trade and remove the P&L, reduce leverage, or breach the account, and it decides what counts as a news event. Futures accounts have no news restriction. [S2, S4, S8, S9]
| Genesis accounts | No new entries 3 minutes either side of high-impact news |
| Futures accounts | News trading allowed |
| Which events | At the firm's discretion; no calendar source named |
Payouts
Genesis accounts pay every 30 days at an 80% split, with a minimum of $100 or 1% of the account and a cap of 5% of the account per period. Express pays 80% of profit above a 3% buffer that stays in the account, with no set waiting period. The firm says approved payouts are sent within 24 hours. That is the firm's own claim; we have not seen a payout. [S2, S3, S5, S8]
| Profit split | 80% on Genesis and Express; 90% on the Straight-to-Funded live account per product pages (Terms say 80%) |
| Genesis cycle | Every 30 days; Instant needs 5 trading days first |
| Express | No set waiting period; 3% buffer; 33.33% consistency; subscription must be active |
| Straight-to-Funded | Capped payout after each of four phases; live account first payout on demand, then every 30 days |
| Minimum | $100 or 1% of the account, whichever is greater |
| Methods | Not stated; FAQ says outbound payment options available at the time |
| Processing | Within 24 hours of approval (firm claim) |
| Breach on a funded account | Payout Protector included: earned share still paid if the account was otherwise in good standing |
| Refunds | Fees are not refundable |
Payouts are paid under the Trader Agreement with Prop Account, and the terms let the firm withhold or reverse a payment if trading broke the rules or does not reflect genuine risk management. A chargeback can put a payout on hold. [S8, S9, S10]
Trading conditions

Is Day One Funded legit?
Day One Funded is a new brand with a named US company behind it. Day One Funded LLC is formed in Maryland, gives a Rockville office address and puts its terms under Maryland law. The evaluations, the fees and the funded accounts all sit with Prop Account, LLC, the same provider behind Papaya Funding, and the risk disclosure names FPFX Technologies LLC for trading infrastructure and payments. The firm names no founders. [S1, S10, S11]
The marketing and the legal pages do not always say the same thing. The homepage says "trade our capital from day one" and the Straight-to-Funded page talks about real cash and a live account, while the risk disclosure says every funded account is simulated and neither company is registered with the SEC, CFTC, NFA or FCA. The Terms also set an 80% split on every account, against the 90% shown on the Straight-to-Funded pages. Where they differ, the Terms and the Prop Account agreements govern. [S1, S6, S10, S11]
We found no public payout proof on any Day One Funded page, and Trustpilot blocked our check on November 7, 2026. Treat it as an untested firm.
Our verdict
Genesis 2 Step is a cheap, well-built CFD challenge: $25 for $5,000, a 10% static drawdown and no time limit. The Payout Protector, which still pays your earned share after a breach on a funded account in good standing, is a useful protection that many firms charge for.
The firm has no public payout record, runs its accounts through Prop Account, LLC and does not publish the Express max loss. The funded Genesis rules (45% consistency, 5% payout cap, 3% position risk) also limit how fast you can withdraw. Start with a small Genesis account, read the funded rules before you buy, and keep records of every payout request.
Best for
CFD traders who want a cheap static-drawdown challenge with no time limit (Genesis 2 Step from $25), and futures traders who trade the news.
Avoid if
You want a firm with a payout track record, you need MetaTrader, or you want every loss limit in writing before you pay for a futures account.
